58.7F- Experiment. I’m going to podcast all my reports this week

6:45PM/ 58.7*F/Clear- Trying something different this week. I’m gonna publish a daily podcast instead of writing my daily weather discussion. This is an experiment and I’ll ditch it and go back to my normal format if I get lots of emails asking me to switch back. So what’s a podcast? checkout my link below or you may also play it here in the first sidebar to the right. Listen to it here Today’s Weather Minute or iTunes

60.1F- Slight cooling expected on Sunday and More Weather Rap at 5:30PM

7:44 PM/ 60.1*F/Clear- 71.1*F was the high today. Good weather for cleaning the pool and start thinking about playing on the lawn and riding bikes in the woods. Sunday should be cooler as a weak front passes to the north and east of our area. You might see some cumulus build ups and the the wind may pick up a bit in the afternoon with high temperatures in the low 60’s and overnight lows in the low 40’s. The ridge will rebuild early in the week only to give way to the possibility of showers from a system on Friday that may actually have enough energy to flatten the ridge. All models are in agreement that the ridge will recover quickly leading to the return of sunny spring weather on next Saturday. The days are getting longer as the window for rainy begins to close.  I was hoping we would at least break 30 inches for the year but that not looking so good at this time. Will April be wet? Not likely but we may yet be surprised.

Tomorrow I will be hosting  another episode of Weather Rap. This week I will be talking about the equipment I use and how to get started with weather watching/reporting. It will be technical but I plan to keep it light. So tune in tomorrow at 5:30 PM as Weather rap turns into a “Tech Chat” I love gadgets so It will be fun. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/weather-rap

54.5F- A nice yet cooler weekend ahead of us

8:36PM/ 54.5*F/Clear- Unlike the midwest our weather this weekend will be clear, sunny and pleasant. Although slightly cooler on Sunday as a storm pushes into the northwest bringing breezy conditions to Northern California . Temperatures will back off into the mid 60’s  but gradualy warm again as the new week begins. Although not official, a pattern change late next week is possible as a spring storm may reach us for the weekend bringing with it a chance of precipitation. Enjoy your weekend!

58.9F -Breezy yet dry weekend coming up

6:45PM /58.9/Mostly Clear- The current ridge of high pressure will hold through the weekend even as a couple of inside sliders push is from the pacific and slide down the far east side of the sierra into the great basin. Northerly winds will moderate temperatures yet still keep us above seasonal average.Daytime high temperatures will remain in the high 60’s into the low 70’s and low 40’s overnight through the extended period which looks dry at this time.
